Melis Kirtilli (she/her/hers)

Postgraduate Researcher
Politics

Melis Kirtilli is a PhD Candidate in Politics. Melis' research lies at the intersection of history of political thought and contemporary political theory. She works on the 19th Century theories of federalism, particularly those proposed by Proudhon, Bakunin, and Kropotkin, with the aim of connecting their political economy of decentralised federalism with contemporary political challenges such as inequality, authoritarianism, climate change, and migration.

Melis' research is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council through the South West Doctoral Training Parternship. She is currently a Kluge Fellow at the Library of Congress in the United States.
