Nina Serbedzija
Postgraduate Researcher
Sociology
I am currently working on a John Oldacre Foundation PhD studentship in the department of Sociology, Political Science, Philosophy and Anthropology.
My research looks at changing conceptions of more-than-human relatedness, with a focus on heritage processes, agrobiodiversity conservation, and multispecies ethnographies.
My PhD research critically engages with the construction of ‘heritage breeds’ and the social worldings they make possible and obscure. My research is based in Istria, where a project to ‘revitalise’ the (formerly extinct) Istrian goat is underway.
Prior to beginning my PhD, I earned an MA in Food Studies at the University of Exeter.
