About me:
I am a Wellcome Trust funded first year PhD researcher; my research focuses on the history of feeding animals in zoos from the post-war period to the present day. This as part of a larger project "Feed the Birds / Do not Feed the Animals." (https://animalfeeding.org/)
My PhD research will investigate how animal feeding changed within zoos, the factors that created this change and the professionalisation of occupations linked to animal feeding.
Prior to joining Exeter, my research focus was on the social history of Royal Navy cadets from the late Victorian era. I am a former winner of the British Commission for Maritime History undergraduate prize and the 2019 winner of the Devon History Society's undergraduate prize.
