Dr Rhiannon Lane

I am a sociologist with a longstanding interest in psychiatric diagnosis, classifications and services. My PhD was a multi-sited Ethnographic study which involved observing diagnostic appointments in adult MH services to analyse the diagnostic process.. My research has Increasingly focused on children & young people’s (CYP) MH, having worked on the CAMH Crisis systematic review project and the Blueprint Project, which explored the evidence for services for CYP with Common mental health difficulties. I am currently working on a Wellcome trust funded fellowship exploring the move towards needs-led models of assessment in UK neurodevelopmental services.
