Dr Sarah Drews Lucas is Senior Lecturer in Political Theory and Co-Director of the Centre for Political Thought. Her research sits at the intersection of feminist philosophy, political theory, and moral philosophy, drawing on traditions of ordinary language philosophy, critical theory, care ethics, critical race theory, and queer theory. She is particularly interested in questions of agency, selfhood, care, community, and the ethical dimensions of political life.
Sarah is also an award-winning educator whose teaching spans feminist political theory, modern political thought, social justice, decolonial theory, and contemporary debates in political philosophy.
Before joining the Exeter Politics Department in 2017, Sarah earned an MA and PhD, both in Philosophy, from the University of Sydney in Australia and a BA in Plan II and Classics from the University of Texas at Austin. She is originally from Houston, TX.
